Family Promise

Working together with the non-profit Family Promise of Greater Denver and other area congregations, our First Unitarian community provides church-based shelter, food, transportation, and hospitality for families who are experiencing homelessness on their way to self-sufficiency. We host families for a one-week period two times each year. Volunteer opportunities include: transforming classrooms into cozy bedrooms so each family has their own private space; preparing evening meals and joining the families for dinner; transporting families to or from the Family Promise Day Site in the morning or late afternoon; providing breakfast and lunch supplies for the week.
