​Green Sanctuary

Climate change and its many potentially dire consequences will affect everyone on the planet; we in metro Denver are not insulated from them. We recognize that not only do we each need to make individual behavioral changes and individually support local sustainable efforts, but we also need to implement changes as a larger empowered group to achieve extraordinary results that are required.

Toward that end, First Unitarian Society spent several years pursuing the requirements of a UU Green Sanctuary church and achieved that designation. Green Sanctuary works to maintain and improve those efforts and to actively bring new sustainable projects and efforts to FUSD and its congregation. Green Sanctuary envisions an ever greener FUSD and an active congregation recognized throughout Denver for its sustainable work.
