Peace

Peace is the Whole Souul Living Theme for January, and it represents a profoundly challenging hope.  Pacifist A. J. Muste wrote:  We cannot have peace if we are only concerned with peace. War is not an accident. It is the logical outcome of a certain way of life. If we want to attack war, we have to attack that way of life.  In other words, as participants in that way of life, we need to work both outwardly and inwardly.  The questions below are for personal and communal reflection this month.

•    Even Muste uses the warlike word “attack” in his quote about peace!  What does this say about our culture and language?
•    The bible talks about, “The peace the passes understanding.”  But what about the understanding that leads to peace?  What is your Peace?  And, what is your understanding?
•    What have you learned about Peace in your lifetime?  Is it teachable?
•    What should your church be teaching children about Peace?
