“In 2019, I retired from my position on the Departmental Appeals Board of the United States Department of Health & Human Services and decided to move from Washington, D.C., to Denver in order to be near my children and granddaughters. I already knew about First Unitarian when I arrived here in 2022 because I had gone to Christmas Eve services there with my family when I visited them in Denver. Although I was raised Catholic, as an adult, I have been a member of (and very active in) many UU churches and fellowships. I felt very much at home spiritually at First Unitarian and appreciated the emphasis on social action. I became a member in 2023 and am currently active in Connections Ministry and the Reproductive Justice and Gun Control groups. I also am a strong advocate of Religious Education for our youth and have offered my experience and help in that area.”
