Congregational Meeting – October 11 at 11 am – Bylaws Update
|
(Thanks to the Board of Trustees for the post)
Originally, the Bylaws Task Force felt very strongly that the Amended and Restated Bylaws should be presented for approval without allowing for any amendments. The Bylaws Task Force solicited input from all committees and all congregants over the course of many months. Making piecemeal changes on the fly without time for due diligence could undermine the coherence and cohesiveness of the entire Bylaws document. After detailed review of Robert’s Rules of Order, it has been determined that amendments from the floor must be allowed. Please carefully consider whether your proposed amendment is one that the Bylaws Task Force already evaluated. If a particular amendment changes the overall cohesiveness of the Bylaws, it could lead to a “No” Vote that sends the entire document back to a new Task Force. Also be advised that only congregants who have been members for 60 days may make amendments, speak to proposed ammendments and vote at a congregational meeting. All proposed amendments require a second in order to move forward.

(Thanks to Laura Mueller for the post)
The congregation will vote on the proposed revised bylaws on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. You will also have the option to vote via Zoom. The Zoom link will be published next week.
