Keeping the Peace

Michael DeSantis, Ministerial Resident

Join us on January 4th at 10:30 am. In this season of New Year’s resolutions — a time of new commitments — let us take some time to reflect on the commitments that we have already made to one another. Join us as we reflect on the purpose and practice of covenants — especially our First Unitarian Covenant — and what those covenants have to do with January’s spiritual theme of Peace.

We warmly invite you to join us in person, or if you prefer, you can also participate online. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our service streams to Youtube and Zoom (meeting ID is 466-677-668 and the password is 454623).

Join us for coffee in the Community Room after the service.

Giving in Action – Transformative Justice Project of Colorado

(Thanks to Noelle Botti for the post)

The Transformative Justice Project of Colorado (TJP) is the next Giving-in-Action recipient. Erin Pier, Executive Director, will join us on Sunday, January 4th to talk a bit about TJP and the work they do. TJP works alongside system-impacted youth and families to interrupt the school-to-prison pipeline—the pattern in which school discipline, unmet needs, and lack of support push young people into the legal system. In Colorado, children as young as 10 can be arrested, and children of color and children with disabilities are disproportionately impacted by school pushout and system involvement. Through holistic, relationship-centered advocacy, TJP helps youth stay connected to their communities, their dignity, and their futures. Erin will be available in the community room following service to answer any questions you may have.

There will be RE Classes held on Sunday, January 4th.

New Parenting CORE Circle!

(Thanks to Leslie Harvey, for the post)

We are creating a supportive community for divorced and single parents of children of all ages. Whether you’re navigating co-parenting, raising kids solo, an empty nester, or adjusting to a new chapter in life, we hope to create a safe space to share, connect, and grow together.

Single and divorced parenting comes with unique challenges and triumphs. Here, you’ll find encouragement and support from others on similar parenting journeys.

Please let Leslie know at msleslie@fusden.org if you are interested in joining us for open conversations in a judgment-free zone where your experience is respected and your voice is valued.

We will meet Monday January 26th from 6:30-8:00 in the teen space in the basement
