Join us for our "Closer to Fine: The Music of the Indigo Girls" with Rev. Lia Davis.
In this immersive music service, we'll do a deep dive into the music of American folk-rock duo Indigo Girls (Amy Ray and Emily Saliers). Committed and uncompromising activists, Saliers and Ray have worked on issues such as racial justice and reproductive rights, immigration reform, LGBTQ advocacy, education, death penalty reform, and Native American rights. Their songs are also intensely personal and cathartic, highlighting the tremendous potential of ordinary life and offering a body of contemporary scripture through poetic songwriting. First Unitarian Denver's musicians will perform personal favorites from Indigo Girls' four-decade career and reflect on the personal significance of these songs in their lives.
We warmly invite you to join us in person or, if you prefer, participate online. We look forward to seeing you there! Our service streams to Youtube and Zoom (meeting ID is 466-677-668 and the password is 454623). Join us for coffee in the Community Room after the service.
