Songs of Freedom and Sorrow

This morning’s Music Service features the works of Rhiannon Giddens. The eclectic folk music artist is an opera-trained, two-time Grammy Award-winning singer; a MacArthur “Genius” grant recipient; the artistic director of Silkroad Ensemble; and a prize-winning composer of opera, ballet, and film. Giddens centers her work around advocating an understanding of our country’s musical origins by celebrating people whose contributions to American musical history have been overlooked or erased.

We warmly invite you to join us in person, or if you prefer, you can also participate online. We look forward to seeing you there!
