On the first Sunday of the new year, many Methodist churches celebrate Covenant Renewal Sunday, a day in which the community remembers and recommits itself to the promises its members have made to the Divine and to one another. Since Unitarian Universalism is a covenantal faith, this holiday seems like a fitting one for us to celebrate as well. Join us as we reflect on the purpose and practice of covenants—especially our First Unitarian covenant—and what those covenants have to do with January’s spiritual theme of Peace.
