FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES – A CIVIL RIGHTS JOURNEY

WHEN: 6:00 pm on Friday, August 9, August 16, and August 23, 2024

WHERE: First Unitarian Denver, 1400 N. Lafayette St., Denver, CO 80218

WHAT: Travelers from FUSD’s recent Civil Rights Tour of the South will host a series of three gripping movies about Birmingham, Montgomery, and Selma. The movies showcase pivotal cataclysmic events between 1865 and 1965 and the concerted struggle for civil rights. After each movie, participants will explore their personal experiences traveling to these cities. The group will also discuss how these historic events relate to our country’s current struggles to retain and regain civil rights in the South and beyond.

WHO: All members and friends of First Unitarian are welcome. Bring your peeps! Youths aged 12 and above are invited to attend with a parent or with a parent’s agreement.

Attend one, two, or all three movies! We’ll supply free popcorn and drinks!
