01
Membership

Become An Official Member of our Community
Just like anything else in life, you get out of something in equal measure to the love you put in. Our community is active.
Many people say we're the church who "walks the walk." When we take a stand, it's not just language. We mean what we say and we express our commitment through action. Becoming a member is a beautiful commitment that enriches our community.

02
Connect

Our Small Group Ministry Helps You Make New Friends
Try joining a core circle group or simply attend the Vespers dinners that happen the first Thursday evening every month during the church year.
A bit shy? Don't worry. Even simply picking up a yellow mug and strolling through coffee hour after church will help you make connections. We're a friendly, welcoming group after all.

03
Volunteer

We're grateful for the gift of your presence
Heard about our Social Justice initiatives? Our calendar is literally full of small member groups doing amazing work in our local community.
From hosting homeless families in our church building many time a year through the Family Promise program to creating a full blown theater company with church friends, volunteering is a dynamic, ever-changing experience at First Unitarian.

04
Religious Exploration

Creating a Safe, Nourishing Space for Your Family
Our mission is to provide our children with a safe, challenging environment in which to learn and grow, connect with other children, and explore their own developing spirituality.
We believe this is best accomplished through
participative learning, and an active exploration of age-appropriate materials.

05
Keep In Touch

Publishing New Content Weekly
Find yourself wondering what's happening at church this week? Wonder no more. We publish weekly so out members will know exactly what's happening and how they can get involved.
Now there's no excuse to miss that Thursday night book club you've been promising yourself for months! Stay connected; stay informed; come make yourself at home.

Key Events

Year-Round Programming for the Whole Family
There are a number of "can't miss" dates to circle on your calendar. We have so many active members creating groups and activities that our calendar can hardly keep up!

*InGathering Service - Welcoming the children back to RE

07
Join a Committee

Every Member is a Leader Here
Committees range in purpose from maintaining the grounds, to overseeing operations, to nurturing leadership and managing finances.
We wouldn't be the church we are today without our many talented, passionate committee volunteers. Understanding the church from behind the scenes is an invaluable experience.

08
Music

Music transforms the Spirit and lifts the soul
Music is the heart beat of our congregation. UUs take great pride in the quality, enthusiasm, and diversity of their musical programs.
Our is led by Lia Davis and Brian Stone who create an amazing environment for our choirs and instrumentalists. Check out the Capital Hills Music Concerts - they're delightful.

09
Church Activities

Church Activities bring our Community to Life
The most important step you can take when trying to "get involved" is to make friends. Relationships are the lifeblood of all communities and ours is no different.
The good news is that we have an activity for almost every personality and interest. And if you don't find what you want, let's create something new!

10
Social Justice

Injustice Anywhere is an Injustice
Everywhere
Our beautiful church building has been officially landmarked. It's just about as old and awe-inspiring as our social justice history.
The members of this church have been at the forefront of CORE racial justice in the 60s, women's suffrage at the turn of the century, and gay rights in the 70s and 80s. That honorable work continues to this day.

Books Make Us Really Happy
The Book Table is set up each Sunday
during first and second service coffee hour in the Community Room.
The church has an awesome library currently located in the basement. Please stop by-we have great books for all ages and a generous
checkout period.

Our most important (and fun) Fundraiser of the Year
What do you get when you combine dinner parties, vacations, special skills, laughter, and a fun time had by all? The Annual Auction, of course!
If you haven't attended, you must give it a try this year. This is one of our biggest fundraisers and we have the most fun putting it on. Attend. Donate. Experience.
