Re-entry and Community Health

Sunday, August 6, 2017

In 2016 almost 20,000 men and women were incarcerated in Colorado State correctional facilities at an average cost to taxpayers of $35,895 per person per year. Whether they return to prison or make a healthy re-entry has tremendous impact on their lives, families, and communities, and on the health and well-being of society as a whole. Every time a man or woman makes a successful post-incarceration transition, we all benefit and the health of the entire community is improved.
