Music Staff & Leadership

The excellent music program at First Unitarian continues to grow each year. Our professional staff, together with the Music Committee, strives to offer quality music at Sunday services and special music events. The program benefits from the generous time and energy of our volunteer choir and guest musicians (from both within and beyond our FUSD community).

Music Staff and Leadership

Lia Davis, Music Director

Lia began playing piano by ear at age five, followed by years of classical training. She thrives in many genres, including jazz, Argentine tango, folk, and pop. Piano is her native instrument, though Lia also sings and plays accordion, organ, electric bass, folk harp, and drum set. She teaches piano to students of all ages and skill levels.

Brian Stone, Choir Director

Brian has been singing, playing piano, and making music of all types since he was 5 years old. With both parents having received their advanced degrees in choral music, it seems Brian was always fated to be a musician. Brian is currently working toward his doctorate in choral music at CU Boulder. In addition to directing choirs at CU, and the Cantabile Singers in Boulder, Brian is active as a singer, performing with St. Martin's Chamber Choir and the Anima Chamber Ensemble. "Keep singing, and join the choir!"

Charlotte Braud-Kern, Children’s Choir Director

Since 2010 she has had the pleasure of working with the talented children in the FUSD Children’s Choir. For more information about the Children's Choir, contact Charlotte.
